Lying on the banks of Chao Phraya River, Asiatic River Square is a very exotic tourist centre in Bangkok. It initially was the international gateway to Thailand. (old Siam) During the latter half of the 19th century, the Thai kings did trading with Denmark at this commercial port. The famous Thai woods were send to other parts of the world from here. Here you can see many warehouses used by East Asiatic company which was a part of Denmark until 1947. These warehouses have been now turned into a fantastic open air mall. Spread across 12 acres of land, this mall has night markets, 1500 shops, 40 restaurants and many souvenir shops. You can buy designer clothes and amazing home décor at the shops here. This mall is dissimilar to the noisy streets in Bangkok. Boutiques selling Thai silk and silver jewelry line up here. There is a huge sky wheel which is similar to London eye here. We can get a spectacular view of Bangkok from the top.  Kids from different parts of the world can be seen having a great time at the amusement park, the aroma of stir-fried basil leaves, garlic and other unknown spices excites your taste buds. Since Thailand was the only country untouched by Western colonialism, u get to eat pure authentic Thai cuisine which is world famous over here. The premium hotels with their decorative flash bulbs, the luxurious boats floating in the turbulent waters, the vast river that seems to be in a rush to meet the sea; all these make the centre, a fascinating place. Direction – Get into the BTS sky train from Bangkok and get down at the Saphan Taksin station. Every 15 minutes, there is a free shuttle boat service from here. You will reach Asiatic dock in 10 minutes. The free service is only up to 10 pm.
